"Heathers"

The movie, "Heathers," sort of sums up the '80's for me, although it was in the early '90's that I saw it. A lot. My girls loved it, and rented it over and over again. Eventually I had to call the neighbourhood video store and tell them NOT to rent it to my kids any more. They probably shouldn't have been allowed to rent it in the first place, but I had given permission, because it was rated R for language and violence, and I had seen it first and thought both were pretty borderline.

It's just that I had a toddler, as well as these teens at the time, and so was frequently up during the night. It was summer, and the girls were out of school, and it seemed that whenever I woke up, I was hearing, "I love my dead gay son," or "There's no such thing as too much oregano," or "F*&# me gently with a chainsaw." I found out something very valuable. I found out that I have limits.

It had to go.

  2. Good morning Ronni.

I remember the movie, but didn't watch it. I have an aversion to movies made for teenagers.

That, probably makes me the ignorant one. My daughter loves them, as well as horror movies, which I find pointless. My bad.

Although, I enjoyed Mothman Prophecies - go figure! Not really a horror, like Freddy, I suppose.

I'm off now, before any more mindless babble pours out.

    Have a good day!

  3. I liked "The Mothman Prophecies," too.

"Heathers" sort of grew on me. If the girls hadn't sat up all night watching it over and over, I probably would have liked it a lot more. It was very dark comedy, which I usually like, having a rather sick sense of humour.
