Women's Short Program

I like the costumes I'm seeing for the Women's Short Program competition. They seem to be more-or-less classic. I've missed about an hour and a half of the skating tonight, but what I saw before I had to go out, and what I'm seeing now are absolutely lovely! Conservative, pretty, and without rags. Life is good. I have nothing to complain about! I know that the costumes for the short program are traditionally more conservative than those for the long skate, so we shall see. The Russian favourite is wearing a jumpsuit, which I like.

Oh, I spoke too soon. Here comes the Ukrainian in merthiolate pink. She has a raggedy skirt and (shudder) gloves! Why am I the only person in the world who knows that merthiolate pink belongs in a medicine cabinet, and ONLY there? There is nobody alive to whom that colour is flattering!

Oh, Sash, Sasha, Sasha! Beautiful performance! Raggy costume. Ick. But, it is a performance like she just gave us that reminds us that figure skating is an athletic competition and not a dance recital.

  1. Good morning Ronni.

Oh, I agree with you about the costumes. The Pink, urgh!

I was on the edge of my seat when Sasha came on to skate. I don't have a dog in the race, but I just wanted someone to beat the Russian, Lord knows why.

You make me laugh, with your wicked sense of humour.

    Have a good day

  2. Good to hear from you, Mgt! Should we be taking up a collection to get you a machine for your home?

  3. Aah! Ronni. That would be lovely, but with the situation at home, there is no way I would be able to get near the thing.

If I ever get a place of my own. That is going to be my very first investment.

I miss you all so much.
