Onyxx

This poor pathetic pussycat is Onyxx. She technically belongs to our across-the-street neighbour. She used to come in here when Mom was alive. Husband remembers her from as far back as 1995, and she was an old cat, even then.

She is now an ancient cat. Not much more than fur and frame, I'm sure she is at least 10 years older than dirt. She is missing a few teeth, drools constantly, and, worst of all, SHE STINKS!

It took her a month, but she has discovered the cat door, and joined the family. The neighbour knows she's here, and our gang has pretty much accepted her.

She's really pretty spry, for such an old cat, and can scamper around, jumping onto furniture, laps, and bathtubs. Her only real problem seems to be the awful stench of her. I gave her a bath last night. She was pretty good about that, and I washed her with anti-bacterial soap, and rinsed her with the sink sprayer. She got a bit testy when I was rubbing her dry, so I gave up on that, and just bundled her up in a towel and held her until she was dry. She still stinks.

But, she's Onyxx; Mom babied her, and I will, too.

  1. If it's any consolation Vero, Spike is not the Pomeranian they promised he was. He is wiry and curly haired and some kind of ugly terrier mix. But we love him just the same.

I still am formulation plans for "Operation Lolly Heist."

  2. Awww, poor baby! Glad she has someone loving like you to care for her. I have a one-eyed, senile, arthritic cat, who is 17 years old, that i love dearly even if he does pee on anything and everything. (thank heavens for heated garage basements with a cat door!)

  3. The smelly little one may have some dental issues if a bath didn't clear up the smell. They have bad breath and the aroma transfers to their coat when they groom.
