Hopefully, the upcoming attention paid to this case by John Walsh will shake up the powers that be in the small town of Cross Plains, Tennessee, so that something actually gets done.
On the site linked in the previous entry, Jennifer's mother says that Jennifer was concerned about "a situation" in the boyfriend's home. One has to wonder what the "situation" was, and why Jennifer did not have a family member come and get her. According to the site, she spoke with several that day, and expressed concern.
There was really very little in the news about it--the boyfriend said she took off, and that was that. No "probable cause" to get a warrant for an extensive search of the property. Little help or cooperation from the boyfriend's family. One has to wonder if there might be something else they are hiding.
It just seems so unlikely that a young mother would hop in an unknown car with her baby, no car seat, no baby bag, no diapers, and disappear into the sunset. If she wanted to leave, she had family that would have picked her up.
The case was mentioned on the Montel Williams Show last fall, but, hopefully, the high profile "America's Most Wanted" will stimulate some discussion, publicity, and pressure on the local law enforcement there in northern Tennessee, and something will be done.
Kathy Holloway wants her daughter and granddaughter back. And justice for them. Why is this so much to ask?
It's not so much to ask. It just astounds me that so many cases are mis-handled or not handled at all. Good post and thanks again for the reminder and bringing it to everyone's attention.
