Little Ronni was three or four years old when this picture was taken. Mom wrote "3 1/2" on the back of the photo, but, as "1/2" comes in December, for me, and this picture was taken in Coventry, England, three and a half seems unlikely. Besides, I'm wearing white shoes. I truly pray my feet weren't quite that big. Mom had a habit of buying my shoes a size (or two) too large, so I'm hoping that's what happened here.
If you look really closely at my left hand, you can see a white cloth bandage on my pinkie. I had managed to get a thorn or splinter down under the nail, and Mom had to perform household surgery to get it out. Accompanied, of course, by screaming sufficient to bring CPS to the door these days. In order to get me back right with the world, she allowed me to put on my favourite dress and get my picture taken.
Pictures were not taken lightly in those days.
And, guess what I did today? Sliced the tip of that same finger with a bread knife. I guess I've always had it in for it!
Golly! Who knew it was interesting? If I'd known that, I would have written more, sooner! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI have to apologize for not maintaining any sort of chronology--I just write it down as something reminds me of something else!

When I find the rest of them, I'll add them. I'm missing a whole box of photos. I know they're here, but finding them will have to happen in due course. LOL!
ReplyDeleteRonni, those B/W pictures are the best.
ReplyDeleteMy brother has a large biscuit tin full of old black and white family pictures. I think I may dig some out and bring them over to Scotland.
I really enjoyed reading a bit of your history.
Lovely picture, BTW
Cheers!
You were so serious and so pretty.
ReplyDeleteHeh...I was kinda cute, wasn't I?
