PawPaw died yesterday.
PawPaw was my son's grandfather; his father's father. His name was Henry Toungate, and I really know very little about him.
He was an electrician, with his own business.
He had smoked Pall Malls (plain end) for years, and had been toting an oxygen tank around for awhile, due to emphysema.
He knew he was going, and insisted on talking with his family about it. He was a strong man.
He was an excellent dancer. When he led, it was easy to follow.
He had a whimsical sense of humour.
He had the old hunting skills. Packed his own bullets, taught all of his kids to hunt and fish, even the girls. Cleaned and ate everything he ever killed.
He grew the best tomatoes I ever ate.
That's about all I know about Henry Toungate.
It's enough.
Ronni - that was a beautiful eulogy for Henry Toungate. He seemed to be a no nonsense type of man and I'm sure he appreciated your brief but respectful tribute.
