Hell Week--Day 1

Still working on the curls. This look is closer to what I want. The Hair Genius will be there tomorrow, but I still need to show up with curls for her to style. Tonight, I left the house with curls, arrived at the theater with curls, but had straight hair within 10 minutes of getting there. It's kind of humid down by that there crick!

The show officially opens on Friday. Thursday is actually the Full Dress Rehearsal, to which may come invited guests. Which makes Thursday the actual opening. Tonight actually went very well. I have a few little sewing things to do, and, as always, have to work on my lines (though they were all there tonight). There are two shirts that still have to go to the cleaner's (heavy starch), and a jacket and a pair of pants still to pick up. They are being darned--moth in the costume shop.

Sometime before Friday, I have to get to Sam's Club, and buy all the fixings for Gala, as well as some of the day-to-day stuff that keeps a theater going, like light bulbs and toilet paper. And, sometime before Thursday, the Annex and House have to be cleaned. Such are the duties of House Manager.

Talk about being up to my ass in alligators!

I usually work four days a week, but, wouldn't you know it; they've got me down for five, this week! The Austin City Limits Music Festival is this weekend, and our manager is going to be manning a booth there, while the rest of us lowly employees take up the slack on the homefront.
