Dress Rehearsal

Anyone recognize this gentleman? No? He is Joe David, who was one of Santa Anna's generales in "The Alamo."

This is the second play I've done with Joe, and he is entirely too much fun to work with. As well as being drop-dead-and-wipe-the-drool-off-your-chin gorgeous! As well as being an opera singer.

The first was "Lend Me A Tenor," and Joe played the tenor. Joe can do this; oddly enough, he is one. Talk about typecasting! That was the play in which I was Julia Leverett, AKA the Chrysler Building.

OK, back to the topic. Dress rehearsal went well enough to get by, and not so well as to make us nervous.

For those who don't know, theaters are rife with superstitions. One is that, if the dress rehearsal is perfect, opening night will not go well. That's right up there with whistling backstage being bad luck, and never EVER mentioning Macbeth. It is always referred to as "The Scottish Play."
