Costume Grumbles Revisited
Those of you who have read my Tripod blog (linked here in a previous post), will remember a furious rant about the female lead in our production of "Man of La Mancha," who insisted on providing her own costume. Here she is, in her spandex corset and giraffe print skirt. The ragged underskirt and petticoat were my only contributions to her costume. She had da noive to ask me if I would let her buy those pieces at the end of the show! Of course, I gave her the ragged skirt and told her that I could not part with the petticoat. The latter was returned to its former pristine white glory within hours of strike.
I have to say that she was magnificent in the rĂ´le. My only objection was to the total unsuitability of the spandex and giraffe.
